Green Day Inspiration
Over 100 parents, carers and grandparents joined pupils and staff for Henry Hinde Infant School’s ‘Green Day’.
The event, which focused exclusively on the topic of sustainability saw everyone working together on different activities to learn about looking after the environment.
On what was a bright sunny day, hundreds of seeds and plants were planted within the grounds of the school to transform the outside areas and recyclable materials were sorted and used to create new art installations. Lights and computers across the site were also turned off in an effort to save energy.
After a morning of hard work, families then joined together for a whole school picnic on the fieldsharing food that was prepared without electricity.
Becky O’Neill, Assistant Principal at Henry Hinde Infant School, said: “What a fabulous day. Not only did we learn about looking after the world around us but we had a wonderful time celebrating our community.”
